Help improve Atlas Obscura by expanding Weißensee Cemetery with additional information or photos.
The Jüdischer Friedhof Berlin-Weißensee, or just Weißensee Cemetery, lies behind tall walls near the heart of Berlin. Inside these walls it feels like a different place and time. The graves and monuments are being overtaken by plants, birds are singing, and nothing is to be heard of the city life.
Know Before You Go
Bring your kippah. If not at the entrance there is the possibility to lend you a kippah. There is an entrance fee for the preservation of the cemetery.
