About

This bronze sculpture of a white dove was created in a foundry in Pietrasanta, Italy. Commissioned by Pope Benedict XVI as part of a “Sins of Humanity” exhibit. The dove represents the sin of war and is one of the 53 sins showcased at the opening.

It was generously gifted to Troy University by the artist Fred NALL Hollis who requested the Dove be placed in the shadow of the Rosa Parks Museum to remind us of Mrs. Parks' courageous act on December 1, 1955, and how she defied the sin of racism.
