I've always had an affinity for odd and magical places, and I am a walker; so, John Stilgoe's "Outside Lies Magic" was right up my alley. Whenever I walk, I try to be mindful -- a compromise between focus and peripheral vision. I've found a few magical places -- in nature and in the anthroposphere -- and a few genuine oddities.
