Sun, August 5 - Afternoon at the Gardens of Alcatraz
Long before Alcatraz became the famous prison it was a US Army fortress, home to soldiers and officer’s families. Isolated on The Rock, the first gardens flourished under the care of the military families. Sat, August 18 - Lost Wonders of Treasure Island
Come out to our man-made island in the middle of the bay for a private small group tour with the Treasure Island Museum Association, looking for the all-but-vanished traces of the epic 1939-1940 Golden Gate International Exhibition. We will be led by Claire Isaacs Wahrhaftig, current Vice President of the TIMA Board of Directors, who was lucky enough to have attended the fair when she was a child.
