The Dental Museum and Mummy of Racibórz
Raciborz, Poland
The biggest exposition of dental equipement in Europe. And a Mummy.
In Racibórz, there is a museum for the history of the village and dental medicine. The biggest collection of instruments for dentists is not that big, but it seems nobody else cared to collect dentist-chairs and the various tools from simple drills to items of whatever cruel purpose.
Another part of the museum is reserved for the city’s history. Curiously, it contains an Egyptian mummy. In the mid-19th century, the Lord of Racibórz, who was very interested in ancient Egypt, bought the mummy as a engagement present for the woman he wanted to marry. The gift of human remains failed to delight her, and the lord gave the mummy to the city.
