Abbaye de Montmajour is a fortified Benedictine monastery built between the 10th and 18th centuries on what was originally an island north of Arles.

These ghostly ruins were one of the most important monasteries in the area. You can see ancient graves carved in the bedrock in the outdoor cemetery.

It offers an amazing view of the countryside and Arles from the highest tower
