I'm an historian of art and archeology aficionado who lives in Jaén, a forgotten but beautiful region in the south of Spain. I've been living many years away from my hometown until I came back just some months ago. As soon as I arrived, driven by my taste for the fancy weirdness, I started to realize there were a remarkable amount of peculiar and wonderous treasures to visit sorrounding me. But I was wrong in a way, because there isn't a remarkable amount, there are lots and lots of hidden treasures!
It has an explanation. Many cultures have lived here through centuries, and all of them seem to share a close connection with their spiritualities in misterious, spontaneous, crazy and beautiful ways. It doesn't matter wich culture was predominant in wich century. From the neolithic days to romans, jews, muslims or christians, they all have a close connection to some kind of ancient and wild pagan mistique, that make imposible any kind of orthodoxy in their beliefs or ways of life. Everything is mixed. Everything is a bit chaotic. And their heritage is a living proof of it.
