Help improve Atlas Obscura by expanding Asheville Mystery Museum with additional information or photos.
This unique museum houses a collection put together by a man named Joshua P. Warren, who worked as a paranormal investigator in the Asheville area. It displays mysterious photos of supposed paranormal phenomena as well as pieces that illustrate the stories. It is currently located in the basement of the historic Asheville Mason Lodge, down a narrow and twisting back stairway off of an alleyway behind the building. It is well worth the time to visit, especially to see the impressive photos of unexplained images.
Know Before You Go
The museum is only opened at the end of the ghost tours given by Haunted Asheville (also run by Warren), which offers guided walking tours of the town filled with history and mystery. Tours can be booked via the website.
